Ours Noir

Ours Noir—French for “black bear”—recently opened its doors to share phenomenal French Cajun and Creole cuisine with guests. Business partners Todd Eisenhauer (owner of Black Bear Bistro in Warrenton), Sheterria Melson, Jodie Marfinetz, and Don Citro have an amazing combined total of 80+ years of experience in the hospitality/restaurant field, and Sheterria explains that their connection began when Sheterria, Jodie, and Don started working for Todd in 2021.

When the opportunity arose to open a restaurant in the former Tula’s in Washington, Todd discussed it with this trio, asking if they wanted to be part of it—they all jumped on board. Todd changes his Black Bear Bistro menus quarterly, and they frequently have Cajun or Creole undertones, so the team thought they could fill a void in the area by opening a restaurant featuring this type of cuisine.

Drawing inspiration from France and New Orleans, the Ours Noir menu boasts dishes such as étouffée, house-made boudin sausage, French pressed-brick sandwiches, chicken gumbo, and more. They aim to bring affordable, high-quality food to Washington and its surrounding cities.
