SUMMARY:The Adventures of Tom Sawyer the Broadway Musical
DESCRIPTION:St. John’s Drama Celebrates America’s 250th Birthday with The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: The Broadway Musical\nSt. John’s Drama is excited to announce its upcoming production of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer: The Broadway Musical! This lively production brings Mark Twain’s beloved classic to life with incredible music and high energy. Even better\, the show lines up with two huge milestones: the USA’s 250th birthday and the 150th anniversary of a classic piece of American literature originally published in 1876. It’s the perfect way to celebrate a piece of American history!\n\nSet in 1840s Missouri\, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer tells the tale of 14-year-old Tom Sawyer and the never-ending mischief of which he so often finds himself a part—from the infamous whitewashing of Aunt Polly’s fence and his friendship with Huckleberry Finn to his attempts to win the attention of Becky Thatcher and a suspenseful adventure inside a cave.\n\nThe musical features a score by Grammy Award-winning songwriter Don Schlitz (famous for country music classics like “The Gambler” and “Forever and Ever\, Amen”) and a book by acclaimed playwright Ken Ludwig. Together\, Schlitz and Ludwig transform Twain’s classic story into an entertaining\, toe-tapping musical adventure that brings the characters and spirit of 19th-century America to life for audiences of all ages.\n\nCelebrate 250 years of America—and 150 years of Tom Sawyer—with St. John’s Drama!\nPerformance Information \nSt. John’s Drama will present six performances at Wakefield Country Day School\, 1059 Zachary Taylor Hwy\, Huntly\, VA 22640  \n\n Friday\, November 13 at 7:00 pm\n\n\n Saturday\, November 14 at 7:00 pm\n\n\n Sunday\, November 15 at 3:00 pm\n\n\n Friday\, November 20 at 7:00 pm\n\n\n Saturday\, November 21 at 7:00 pm\n\n\n Sunday\, November 22 at 3:00 pm\n\nTicket Prices:\n\n Adults: $10\n\n\n Students (including College students) and Seniors (65+): $8\n\n\n Children (ages 3–12): $7\n\n\n Sunday Family Special: $40 maximum for parents and minor children\n\nFor additional information or to purchase tickets online\, please visit www.stjohnsdrama.org.\n\n*********************************************************************************************************************\n\nTHE ADVENTURES OF TOM SAWYER\n\nIs presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).\n\nAll authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.\n\nwww.mtishows.com
